Kennel "The Barking Bunch" introduces Hoss to you, the new man in our Bernese family. Hoss, a beautiful stud dogfrom our own kennel. A Bernese Mountain Dog where the health of the Bernese Mountain breed is combined with its beauty. Hoss is a son of Roza and Jack. Roza and Jack are beautiful Bernese Mountain Dogs. With so many dogs in their lines selected for health and character over many generations. In the pedigree of Hoss you see the Barking Bunch dogs in the dam's line. The sire line is made up of Polish and American bloodlines. It's a nice outcross: no dog in the pedigree is the same, giving you a healthier and stronger Berner! The result is impressive: Hoss is Dutch Youth Champion 2022 and Holland Cup junior Winner 2021!! Moreover, we are very happy with Hoss' brothers and sisters: beautiful, sweet and healthy! The mother of Hoss

The mother's official name is "Liefste Lief from the Barking Bunch" and we call her Roza! She didn't get this name for nothing: what a sweet dog Roza is. No wonder Hoss has such a soft character. Hopefully Hoss will pass on this fine character trait to his offspring so that everyone will get a Bernese Mountain puppy from him who, like Hoss, also has cuddling as his biggest hobby!

And this is the mother of Roza (Baps). She comes from Estonia and is a beauty to see. Have a look for yourself:

General information on Hoss

Hoss is a large male with a lot of bone and a beautiful coat. He has a beautiful male head and looks very happy into the world with his beautiful, dark eyes. He is always in a good mood and happy to see you. As you can see on the pedigree, there are several dogs from leading Bernese Mountain kennels who, like us, breed with the goal of healthy, beautiful dogs with a good life expectancy.

Hoss is in the first four generations a real outcross combination with dogs from all over Europe (and America). This means that the dogs in the first four generations have no family ties. This increases health within the Bernese Mountain breed. Plus, most of his ancestors are champions too! No wonder Hoss has also become so beautiful. Of course all his ancestors were also judged on HD and ED and also due to this Hoss also has good hips: HD free (A). Hoss' elbows were also assessed and the result: both perfect, ED 0/0; the best possible result!

The show career of Hoss

On the photos below you can see that Hoss is a powerful, beautiful, large and harmoniously built dog. The judges wrote, among other things, “male of excellent type. Powerful well-shaped male head in harmony with the body. Dark brown almond shaped eye. Good pigmentation. Symmetrical main marking. Harmonious angulation. Stands on strong legs and feet. Well developed body. Spacious gait. Confident temperament”. In his portfolio you will find reports from the judges.

Hoss won Best of Breed (BOB) in the international dog show Rijnland 2024
and won the titles: "Dutch Show Champion" and "Rijnland Star 2024"

Hoss hikes with us the Pieterpad trail (20 km a day)

Hoss can walk as the best and he likes to do that. He walked the Pieterpad with us: 20 km a day in the open air.
